Walnut Farm is in the lovely village of Burnaston in South Derbyshire with rolling farm land all around. The main house dating from the 1700's and the stables from the 1840's are both grade II listed. The stables have been recently converted and now provide luxury accommodation. They have much character, and are set around a large courtyard.
Tourist attractions include Ashby Castle of Ivanhoe, Calke Abbey, Staunton Harold, Conkers, Snibston Discovery Park, Melbourne Hall, National Space Centre, Sudbury Hall, Kedleston Hall, Foremark Reservoir & Swarkestone with their water-sports facilities. The nearby villages of Ticknall, Repton and Melbourne also are interesting to explore. Other local attractions are Donnington Park, Coors Visitor Centre and Twycross Zoo. With its central location and excellent road links a multitude of tourist attractions can be reached. Ashbourne (the ‘Gateway to Dovedale and the Peak District’) and the ever-popular Alton Towers, are an easy drive.
