The Farmhouse
The farmhouse was built in the 1860’s and retains many of the existing features such as the fireplaces and cornice in the sitting rooms and the impressive staircase. The house overlooks mature gardens with extensive lawns, a large pond to the front and the tennis court to the side. It is a superb property for larger groups of family or friends and has the benefit of a lower ground floor which houses both a full sized slate snooker table and a games room complete with table tennis table.
The Farmhouse is situated in Somersal Herbert which is south of Ashbourne, just a short drive ( 7 miles ) from Alton Towers with Drayton Manor Park a little further a field but with over 100 rides and an award winning zoo its well worth a visit. At Tamworth is the Snowdome with a wide range of run activities and Waterworld at Stoke-on-Trent with its thrilling water rides. Stoke-on-Trent is also the home of 'The Potteries' where you can discover how the worlds finest china is produced and buy the products at a bargain price. Alternatively take the family on a trip to Amerton Farm, on the Stafford side of Uttoxeter, besides the farm animals you will find farm shops with gifts and crafts, a garden centre a restaurant and lots more. Children will also enjoy the Blackbrook Zoological Park with its many animals and birds.
