About the Cedars...
In the late 18th century, Belper was the nail-making centre of Britain, with over 500 nailers working around the town. The Nailmaster of Belper, Abram Harrison, built himself a grand house on a small farm between Jedediah Strutt’s mill village and the town of Belper, and this house, originally called Field House, is now known as The Cedars.
