This newly renovated detatched barn conversion stands in it's own grounds in a rural setting with views to scenic Carsington Water. It has been sympathetically restored retaining the original beams and finished to an excellent standard. The barn is on a small development of barn conversions and is simply ideal for the larger family party seeking a high quality base for exploring the Peak National Park.
Watersports feature prominently in the area and dinghies canoes and windsurfers can be hired at Carsington watersports centre. Day tickets are available for trout fishing including boat hire if required. The house is in an excellent position for cyclists (cycle hire available) or ramblers to take advantage of the many trails and all the striking scenery of the southern Peak National Park and there's a real-ale pub, with restaurant, serving good food, within easy walking distance, which is willing to reserve tables for guests.
The historic lead-mining, market-town of Wirksworth is but a few minutes drive, and offers good shopping, and a fine visitor centre. Ashbourne (the Gateway to Dovedale) is three miles away, with swimming pool and beautiful park. It is ideal for shopping or browsing, having four supermarkets, speciality shops and a tourist information office.
The country towns of Matlock, Buxton and Bakewell are easy to reach, Chatsworth is a short drive away and children will love the Crich Tramway Village, American Adventure Theme Park, Gulliver's Kingdom, Midland Railway Centre, and the ever-popular Alton Towers (25 mins).
